Building Difference

Building Difference is a long-term program involving Give Back to Society initiatives for community environment and public infrastructure improvements. As part thereof, BLD has completed multiple renovation and revitalization projects in close cooperation with local authorities, including under PPP schemes. Building Difference is as well the company's official slogan, applicable also to the way we create new and modern living environments, one home at a time.

The newly built street in the Manastirski Livadi Iztok district is a significant development that aims to improve infrastructure and accessibility in the area. This initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance urban living conditions and support community modernization. The street's construction not only provides better transport communication, but also complements the ongoing residential and commercial projects in the district, fostering a more integrated and convenient urban environment for residents and businesses alike.

The entire urban revitalization project for "Malko Tarnovo" str., carried out by BLD and designed by Atelier Serafimov Architects, was donated to Sofia Municipality. It was inspired by the diverse and rich history of Sofia's shortest pedestrian street, which despite its modest 60m length holds memories and artifacts that testify to some of the most significant epochs in Bulgarian history. The street is now open for the public, featuring updated underground infrastructure and pavement, repainted facades, cleaned infrastructure elements, and new lighting and elements inspired by the street's authentic early 20th-century appearance.

The first pilot project of the long-term initiative Building Difference was dedicated to Old Lozenets, a beloved district of Sofia. This project was developed based on the principles of placemaking, bringing together the assets, inspiration, and potential of the local community, professionals, active organizations, students, and institutions.
