Peace of mind and productivity at the desk

Work is supposedly just a duty, but in fact it often turns out to be a very, very important part of our lives.

And it can't be otherwise, if we spend at least 8 hours of our day dedicated to it. That's why they say "Find a job you enjoy and you won't have to work a day in your life".

But the truth is, as much as we like our jobs, the pressure and fatigue have their say and we have days where nothing goes right.

For those days when work doesn't argue, or the pressure is just too much, you need a life-saving Slow Life plan - a few little "helpers" to remind you that life is bigger and better than a work project after all.

Turn off the big time thieves

Eight hours of work would be perfect if we knew how to allocate our time. Some of the biggest "time thieves" are conversations with colleagues, long meetings, and social networks that we log into supposedly for a little while.

For each of these distractions, set a specific time during the day - 10 minutes in the morning with our coffee and 10 minutes in the afternoon when we really need to rest.

The rest of the time, dedicate yourself to your work and tasks.

Rest is part of the job

To be productive, you need a quality break every two hours. However, this doesn't mean gossiping with colleagues (they're stressful) or aimlessly watching videos (because you can't tear yourself away).

A nice break is a short walk around the office, a glass of water or fruit and even, if you're not worried about anyone seeing you, a few light exercises - stretches, a few squats, shoulder shrugs and a few finger lifts.

Something green, something personal

There are different types of people. Some like to keep personal items on their desk, others want to be strictly corporate. In all cases, though, it's nice to have an item on your desk that makes you feel good just by looking at it.

An evergreen plant or a small souvenir from your last trip will help you remember the good side of life.

Right priorities

The thing that stresses us out the most at work is relationships with other people. When we're trying to please everyone, impress everyone and always be on the level, it's normal for a moment of fatigue, nervousness or a clash of interests to occur.

Define well for yourself those things that are truly important to you - quality performance, career advancement, genuine relationships with people, and don't give in to manipulations that cause you to stray from your own principles.
