My home is my fortress. Or better "my home is my airplane, porcelain display or bubble".
If you don't understand what we're talking about, check out the pictures below.
They showcase the world's most amazing homes that go beyond our standard notions of four walls to fulfill their creators' wildest dreams.
However, we start not with a home, but with a solution for extreme situations. These white houses in Indonesia were built for those in distress after a major earthquake in the Sumberhar region.
A great example that temporary buildings in crisis areas may not be ugly and depressing.
The House of Porcelain
In Tianjin, China, there is a house that incorporates hundreds of thousands of vases and pieces of Chinese porcelain.
It's a place to tiptoe around for sure.
The Bubble Palace
Somewhere in France, a brave man decided that quadrangular houses were too boring. He made himself a home that would make Daddy Barba /the Barbarons/ envious.
He called it "The Bubble Palace". The windows look out on the Mediterranean, the rooms are round and the floor rotates.
My home is my plane
What's better than living in a plane. Sure, it's not in the air and you don't wake up on a different continent every day, but it's a plane.
It's located in Lebanon and is made from an old Airbus A380.
More important than the shape of the home, though, is that it feels cozy, safe and secure.
